Deacon Isaac Cummings and his wife denounced and testified against Elizabeth Howe, a suspected witch during the Salem witch trials. This woman was tried, convicted and executed. She was hanged on 19 July 1692. See her memorial at http://www.salemweb.com/memorial/stones1.htm There were 14 women and 6 men killed during the Salem witch trials.
